EasyJet has today announced the launch of two new routes from Birmingham to Bordeaux in France and to Gibraltar, offering the only direct connections to both destinations from the airport.

Flights to Bordeaux are scheduled to take off on 1 May 2025, with the choice of flying on Thursdays and Sundays throughout summer perfect for a long weekend in the world capital of wine.

A destination steeped in history and known for its wildlife and water sports, flights to Gibraltar will launch on 1 June 2025 and operate year round on Thursdays and Sundays.

Seats are now on sale at easyJet.com and via the app from just £23.99*

The new routes are the latest to join easyJet’s Birmingham network, following the launch of services to Malta and Gran Canaria, and means the airline has now more than doubled the number of destinations it offers from Birmingham since opening a base at the airport in March 2024.

Tour operator easyJet holidays will also be offering packages across the new routes with all easyJet holidays packages including flights, hotel and 23kg luggage and transfers on beach holidays, all covered by its Ultimate Flexibility, offering freedom to change a booking, a refund guarantee, and best price guarantee.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said:

“Our success in Birmingham since launching our base earlier this year is a testament to the continued popularity of our flights and holidays, with customers choosing us for our trusted brand, unrivalled network and great value fares. We’re delighted to be adding even more new routes to our ever-growing network at the airport, offering two unique direct connections to provide our customers in the Midlands with an even greater range of destinations to choose from, whether they’re travelling for leisure or business.”

Tom Screen, Aviation Director of Birmingham Airport said:

“easyJet has a staggering 34 routes on sale for 2025 from Birmingham Airport after only opening its base in March this year. Two of these new routes were unserved from Birmingham however easyJet has now filled that gap with direct flights to these popular destinations of Gibraltar and Bordeaux. With the convenience of a flight only or package holiday customers can rest assured that travelling with easyJet ensures convenience and choice for all passengers.”
